Rolling Road (Dyno)
Our Sun RAM XI rolling road was primarily installed to perform research and development work and cut through the hype we find in our industry, but it is now available for hire by customers at pre arranged and booked times.
A rolling road or dynomometer measures the power of a car at the wheels.
Our Sun RAM 11 underwent a major technical upgrade in 2011 and is now capable of measuring 600 bhp at the wheels which makes it suitable for all but the most demanding of road cars.
We offer two types of rolling road service to customers:
Power Runs:
Power runs are available to individuals at £40 +VAT per run with discounts available for multiple/group bookings. Power runs enable owners to measure the power of their cars at the wheels, see their cars capabilities and drawbacks first hand, identify issues and possible improvements, or simply benchmark their car before making changes to allow future improvements to be measured. Please read the notes at the bottom of this page if you will be visiting us. No hidden extra charges.
Rolling Road Tuning:
With specialist equipment we are able to identify issues and tune your car in a controlled live environment. Priced per hour at £80 +VAT for the first hour and £60 +VAT per hour there after. Please read the notes at the bottom of this page if you will be visiting us. No hidden extra charges. Parts and fitting charges to be discussed on the day or arranged/agreed in advance.
Rolling Road Attendence Notes:
- Please advise us of any issues you may know of with the car beforehand.
- Please make sure your car has enough fuel for the session to save wasting your/our time.
- Check your engine has been correctly topped up oil and water/coolant. Damage to your engine is not fun.
- Check your engine has not got any oil or water/coolant leaks. Contaminating of our rollers is not fun and it means extra time has to be taken to clean them up before we can continue tuning.
- Check your tyres have good even tread and that they are inflated to the correct tyre pressures.
- Check your wheels are aligned/tracked properly. If your car doesnt drive in a straight line on the road it will try to pull itself off the rolling road.
- We retain the right to make a final decision on whether your car will be run on our rolling road.
- Although every care is made to ensure your car is treated with respect we cannot be held liable for any damage caused whilst your car is on our rollers. A rolling road will not push a car any harder than being driven hard on the road, however, standing outside the car and near to it at 100 mph+ may seem as though it is.
- Our rolling road operators will be the only people permitted to drive your vehicle on the rolling road. No exceptions.
- Enjoy!
Rolling road opening hours:
